The Women’s Sports Foundation

Description: Established in 1986 by joint resolution of Congress,
NGWSD was created to acknowledge the achievements of women
in sports and fitness and highlight the importance of sports
and fitness for girls and women of all ages. The February
6, 2008 celebration will be a day to commemorate the accomplishments
of female athletes and to highlight how participation in
sports has helped them play fair both on and off the field.
